Austraplas is a dynamic and expanding Australian owned plastic extrusion, injection and rotational moulding company. Electricity consumption and demand is influenced by the manufacturing of customised plastic solutions which require accurate and timely advice. The owners of Austraplas wanted to reduce energy costs whilst drawing enough power to manufacture customised products for their clients.
An Amanda Energy expert met with the owners on site to gain a better understanding of their power consumption and objectives, then conducted a comprehensive analysis of Western Power historical data to identify patterns and cost saving opportunities.
A tariff optimisation and rate analysis identified opportunities to save on Energy charges. An analysis of demand and consumption indicated that Austraplas should minimise usage during peak interval periods to help reduce Capacity Charges. The owners participated in Amanda Energy’s Peak Shaving program which provided advanced warnings of peak days during the hot season with minimal disruption to business activities.
Amanda Energy delivered an immediate rate reduction for Austraplas in their first term of supply. Over the past 5 years, the electricity rates have progressively decreased each term, resulting in an average savings of 10.2% per annum.
“Amanda Energy provided an easy report showing our savings. We particularly like the open and honest approach.”
